Planning a holiday in Britain? If you’re looking at city breaks, day trips or tours, then you’ll likely be inspired by Britain’s Heritage Cities campaign.
Six British cities are collaborating on the city tourism campaign.
These six cities – Bath, Carlisle, Chester, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon and York – are showcasing their history, heritage, culture, attractions and events.
The innovative tourism campaign is timed for the run-up to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 Olympic Games.
Launched in the summer of 2011, an updated website profiles the six British cities. A mapping feature helps illustrate UK geography for travelers.
Britain’s Heritage Cities covers travel topics ranging from history, royal connections, theatre, restaurants to hotels, spas and more.
“For long-stay visitors, the cities provide a perfect focus for a touring holiday of Britain,” say campaign organizers.
“But individually, each one of them is also well placed for a shorter stay city break in the UK.”
